About This Chapter
The scene opens with the sound of the hedgehog's voice, "Something fell down!" . It's Hiroyuki's older brother, Alain, who's in the middle of a conversation with his friend, Madame Hu. Alain tells Hiroyuki and his friend that Madame Hu is in the exhibition and that she's overheard their conversation. Hiroyuki doesn't want Madame Hu to be involved in the family's business dealings, so he's going to get her out of the way. He tells Alain that he'll come back to school the next day to play with Hiroyuki, and then he and Alain are going to find Madame Hu together. Madame Hu has taken off her shoes, and Hiroyuki apologizes for not being able to accompany her to the exhibition. He gives her a bunch of gifts, including a new phone and a painting book. He apologizes sincerely for causing Madame Hu's broken phone to break. The gift is so nice that Hiroyuki sends it to Madame Hu, who is very happy.
