In this short scene, King Lear speaks with the Archbishop of Canterbury about the Crusades. He tells the Archbishop that he has come to Canterbury to ask him to forgive the King's enemies, but that he will not do so until they have been "hangred" . The Archbishop replies that they should not forgive their enemies until they are "hanged" , and then he asks the Archbishop if he has been able to "raise kaster yet". The Archbishop says that he is inclined to do so, as he wants to make sure that those who are invested in the protectorate's interests are not left behind. He then tells him that he does not know of the island of sorrow, and that he must worry that the people there are unfamiliar with it. He says that they prefer the island to the rest of the world, as it is "a bit isolationist" and they do not want trees to hide from them. He adds that the Archbishop is very exotic, and he asks him what he wants from him. The archbishop replies that he wants information about some kind of "enhanced assassin" who has been hired by the King to kill the King. The King says that this is important because he has found a missing link between the two countries, and whoever stands between them will be "reversed and prejudiced".
