About This Chapter
The school's master of discipline scolds Hero Cui for changing his testimony. He points out that the scene of the murder was captured on the same day that the crime was committed, and Hero Cui can clearly see that only the upper part of the victim's body is visible, and that someone else dragged him by his trousers. Hero Cui asks the judge to re-examine the evidence, but the judge refuses to do so, saying that it is difficult to explain. The school principal interrupts, asking Hero Cui why he is there. He says that Hero Cui wants to find the new culprit, and he wants to identify the person who is responsible for the murder. He tells Hero Cui that he saw the culprit with his own eyes and that he cannot blame it on anyone else. He also says that the culprit's name is called "jing a ni," which means "confident confident." Hero Cui says that this is nonsense, because the culprit is so obsessed with anime that he forgets that no one knows him. He asks what was the motive behind the frame-up, and the school principal says that if he doesn't have one, then he's accusing someone of a false crime. The principal then asks what the other classmate is saying, and when he says that he is the real culprit, the principal shuts up, saying, "shut up." The other classmate, he says, is saying that he wants the school to "punish my body." The principal tells him that he knows a lot about Japanese, so he can understand what he is saying. The only other witnesses at the scene were the two of them, and they are the only ones who believe what the principal says.
