Chapter 269 opens with Luo zheng and the other humans discussing the possibility of a peace treaty between the humans and the demon race. Luo says that he would be satisfied if the demons gave him three of their coveted seats. He says that the five seats would be a great opportunity for the humans to gain back some of their lost ground. The other humans argue that the offer is too generous, and that the demons should just agree to give up all of their seats and get rid of the curse on the tower of sin. They argue that it is unreasonable for the demons to try to kill the humans, but Luo insists that he is not planning to kill any of the humans yet. He tells the humans that it would be easier to kill him once, for all, than to try and negotiate with him. The humans are glad that Luo is not their enemy, and they are relieved that he will not be a threat to them.
