"Bar arcadia" is the title of this short scene. It opens with a soliloquy in which the narrator laments the fact that he has not seen his lover for a long time. He feels that he is the only one in the world who has not been able to see him for so long. He asks the bartender to bring him a glass of wine to drink to his ex-lover. The bartender refuses, saying that he does not want to say goodbye to his lover. The narrator asks if the doctor is feeling well, and the bartender says that he feels better. The doctor, however, is not feeling well. He says that the doctor has told him not to smoke, but now that he smokes, the doctor cannot replace his smoking habits. He then asks if it is okay for him to end his relationship with the doctor, but the narrator says that it is not okay. He wants to ask the doctor how he feels, and he asks the doctor to hold on to the lighter so that he can touch it. He tells the doctor that if he is feeling so sad, then he will make him feel better.
