About This Chapter
Now that he's back on the battlefield, Renfield realizes that he still has a long way to go. He's not strong enough to protect his son-in-law, so he'll have to rely on others to protect him. Renfield says that the people in the white cloud pavilion aren't ordinary. They've been around for a long time, and they've got their own special abilities. He warns them to be careful of the guy named Nemo, who's been a reliable police officer in the area for years. He also warns them about the guy called "Neville," who Renfield thinks is an arrogant old man. He tells Renfield that living a long, unhappy life is just a form of suffering, and that she inherited her ancestors' divine power from her ancestors thousands of years ago. She warns Renfield to be nice to her father, who is fat and grumpy, and not to let him get in the way of the fight. She's about to make her move, but she can't see Renfield's moves, and she coughs. She doesn't know why Renfield would want to live a long life, watching his family members die and leave him, when there's no one to love him. He says that a few days before, he didn't go to see his grandmother, because she's a better person than Renfield. He thinks that Renfield is just making up stories about how he beat his grandmother to get her to come see her grandson. He still has some work to do, though.
