About This Chapter
"Outside My Perfect Boss" The narrator opens this chapter by saying that it would be odd for him to be alone in his room with his boss. He tells us that he's not surprised that his boss would turn into a "pervert" . He says that it's pretty clear that he doesn't even know how to read, and that he can't do anything about it. He's worried about what people will think of him, but he'll do his best to be "less obvi" , and he thanks his boss for telling him so. The narrator says that everyone is always looking out for him, and so he can count on him more than any other person. He goes on to say that his fever is getting better, but that he needs to get some rest before he can return to work the next day. He glances at the meeting of the 20th division and realizes that he fell for "ba dump shake" the night before. He wonders how he would feel if they extended their relationship a bit, and wonders if he'd feel better if he could keep his chin up and work hard. He asks if she's feeling better, and she says that she is. She says that they were shocked when he fainted, because he carried her off like a "bridal carry," and she thinks that he was just too cool.
