About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that the young man is going to sit in his chair for a while. He's not feeling well, and he thinks he's going to vomit. He tells the doctor to take him to the hospital, but he doesn't need to go. He says he'll tell the president about it so that he can rest. The narrator says it's okay for the president to keep a secret, since he is an alpha. He wonders if the president would care if he found out that he couldn't eat. He asks the doctor if he could continue their conversation while they were eating, but the doctor says it would be polite to stop. It turns out that the conversation was a bit awkward, and the narrator apologizes. He blames himself for not thinking about the man's taste. He apologizes for giving him the chocolate, but says he should've given it to the man instead. He admits that he was out of his mind, trying to hide his weakness. He realizes that she was wrong from the start, and that she should have stayed away from the man, feeling happy when the man smiles, but missing him when she's apart from him
