He explains that he does not need to use his natural flow skills to escape, as he can only move in the space that he has created. He also explains that even if he were able to move inside the space, the dragon would not be able to attack him because he is invisible. The reason why the dragon didn't attack him at the beginning of the chapter is because he could recognize the skill in time. The swordsman realizes that the black dog is turning the tide in the battle.
