About This Chapter
Sitting in his room, Yuu asks his friends why they're hanging out all the time. He's worried that they'll find out that he's been having an affair with his dad's daughter, and that they won't let him out of their dorms. He also worries that his father will kick him off of the sports club, which is where everyone goes to hang out. Yuu says that he doesn't want to cause trouble for anyone else, so he just has to stay out of trouble. He tells his friends that his face looks beet red, because his crush was actually his father's first crush, and since then, his face has gotten twisted. The next day, he saw someone leave, and everyone has to go home for the summer break, which means that Yuu will have to go back to school, too. He feels like he has "dignified a hole for himself" by hanging out with his friends, and he wonders if he'll be able to choose between going home for vacation or going back to work. He wonders if his father has changed since he was a kid, and if he has changed at all since kindergarten, when he turned down a girl in front of his school entrance, and then turned around and hit another girl in the street. He says that his dad hasn't spoken to Yuu since high school, and now he'd rather be busy than talking to his friends. He asks Yuu how long he plans on sulking, and Yuu tells him that he should go out with him, since his father wants him to do what he wants. He then tells Yuu that he wants to stay by his side, since he thinks his father is finally going to let go of his son. He wants to be like his father, but he also wants to remain loyal to his father.
