In the first half of this chapter, a young man named Kumi calls on his boss, Hiroshi, to tell him that two of his co-workers have been selected to appear in the King of Manzai, a popular comedy show in Japan. The young man tells Kumi that he has had a crush on Hiroshi for a long time, but that he will never tell him. Kumi tells the young man that he needs to get ready to go to work the next day. He tells him that he and Hiroshi will have to compete in a game of spin around a bat to see who can do the best impression of the most beautiful woman in the world. Hiroshi is nervous because he has never done such a thing before, but Kumi reassures him that it will be a fun game.
