About This Chapter
The scene opens in the art market in Hong Kong. Seated in front of a large display of art objects, Lucentio and his friend, Senior, are discussing the food they have just eaten. Senior is worried about his friend's reaction to the food, which he has just tasted. He is also worried about what his friend will think of the food if he finds out that it is indeed the food of the devil. Senior asks his friend to take a look at some of the items on display, and the two exchange glances. Senior, however, is not interested in the food at all; he is interested only in the expensive items that he has seen on display. He does not want to discuss the subject of his friend with Mina, who is now in love with a man named Jo. He asks her to go away, but she refuses, saying that she is already in love and that she has no reason to speak to him about the topic of her love
