About This Chapter
In this short scene, we are introduced to Miss Minjung and her lover, Joaquim. The two of them are in the middle of a conversation when they are interrupted by the sound of a knock at the door. The knock is from Mina, who wants to know what has happened to her. She realizes that she has lost her mind, and realizes that her lover has lost his mind as well. She feels relieved that he has treated her so well, and she wonders why he treated her that way. She also realizes that he is taking advantage of her, because she has already known that he does not care for her. He tells her that he will try his best to help her finish her bucket list, in exchange for which he will be the one who connects her with Joaqum. He promises that if things fail, he will not blame her for them. He then asks her to sign a contract, promising that they will never again misunderstand each other. She agrees to do so, and they exit. The song interrupts the conversation, and the two begin to argue about the contract. The narrator tells us that the two are in such a state of confusion that they are unable to understand each other's thoughts. They both realize that they have no time for each other, and that it is unfair for them to be in this situation. They feel that the moment they admit it, they have fallen into an "irrducible pain."
