About This Chapter
When the door opens, it is obvious that no one is around to see what is going on. The young man who lives next door to Joaquim asks the older man if he knows anything about the relationship between him and the young man. The older man says that he does, and the younger man tells him that it is suspicious that something has happened between them. The younger man asks if the old man is awake and the elder man replies that he is. The elder man tells the young men that he has lost his soul already, and that he should calm down and be comforted by the angel. The old man says he is not dead, but that the angel and the devil cannot appear at once. He asks the younger men to accept the gift of comfort as a gift, but they refuse, saying that they are using "informal speech." The young men say that they do not know if they are dating, but the elder tells them that they should not, because just visiting someone in hospital does not mean "dating." The younger men say they are not, and they tell the older men that they have not been seeing each other. The senior men tell them that this is not easy to do, as it is not their job to be his girlfriend
