About This Chapter
Back on the ship, the crew is holding a meeting to discuss the progress of their search for dragons. One of the guys asks if the hide is ready for tanning, and the other asks if it is. The first guy says it looks good, but the second guy says that it is not. They have been looking for dragons for the past month, and they have barely scraped together enough money to keep the ship afloat. The other guy says they are a bunch of "bullheaded brats" , and that they should do something about it. He says he is going to play a game where he will double anyone who beats him, and if they all win, he will give them all a nice new pair of shoes. The rules of the game are simple: each person has to roll three dice, and whoever wins the most wins. First, both people roll two dice, then they each roll a single dice. Whoever wins 13 wins the game. The second guy asks why they have to hide their debt from the first guy. The third guy says he has been watching the dice roll since they seemed to be too good at it the first time, and he wonders why they do not roll the dice with their eyes closed.
