In this chapter, Vanabelle tells us that she's been cooped up in the cabin for a while. She's had a hard time getting out of the house, and she doesn't have a lot of food to eat. Vanabelle says that she left her laundry out in the open so that the men wouldn't see it. She says that they haven't seen a dragon yet, but that they're sure they'll see one soon. She thinks that they should wait until the dragon wears itself out, and then she'll eat it.
