When the father arrives, he is surprised to find his son-in-law, the emperor's son, in charge of the household. The father tries to calm him down, but the young man tells him that the emperor is an incompetent idiot and that he would have killed him if he hadn't told him about the plan to overthrow the emperor. The young man says that if the emperor forces him to marry his daughter again, he'll say yes. He tells the father that he hasn't seen his daughter for days, and that she's been bullying him. He wakes up to find that his master has been injured again, and he wonders if he might have better come back next time.
