About This Chapter
Back at the police station, Oswald tells the officers that he doesn't want to argue with them. He wants to see some identification. He's worried that someone will eventually want to kill him. Oswald points out that this is not a "reoistered hit" , but a man who's done some wrongs in the past. Still, he says, he's not going to let himself get blown away by a crowd like this. He says that he'll have to wait until the police have opened their doors before he can enter the building. He also says that they're going to be blown away before they can open their doors. Oswald says that it's sad that they couldn't put the whole thing to bed earlier. He adds that they had an "equitable arrangement" with the police, but their greed made it too expensive. They'll write the paperwork later. Oswald asks if connie has anything to tell him. Connie tells him that the woman has blackmailed him, and that she wants him dead before she kills both of them. Oswald tells him to go ahead and kill the man before he kills them both. Then he asks what's the next move.
