About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that he's been stuck inside the hovel waiting for nightfall. He says he'd be a rebel if someone told him he would end up joining a bunch of freaks. He's the lone member of the resistance, and he says he would have found out at least if the prince did something to keep the bugs away. He adds that he hasn't felt "the wind on his face" in years. The narrator says they've asked for peace, and they received only "obnoxious blood, fire, and death" in response. Now they're going to make them pay. They'll break into the office of Professor Gomensoro, who's head of the organization, and find out if there's ever been any real effort to cure the mosquito. They should announce publicly that the organization has never been able to find any real cure. They won't know what to expect, since they don't even know if they'll find any papers to prove their point. They break out of the office, and the narrator says he doesn't understand why they are doing this, since he didn't just kiss ass or let people grab his ass. He explains that he has done this before, by chasing the "one hell of woman" . He asks if they can keep on chasing the news, since it feels like years have passed since he first entered the office. They decide to take everything and figure out what they can use it for later.
