About This Chapter
In this chapter, the killer tries to hide the crime he committed while acting like he wants to be seen. He tells the ghosts and spirits in the area to find out if anyone in the neighborhood wears the jacket that bears his name. He also tells them that he killed a man out of hatred, but that he carried the knife around with him. He explains that he had always wished he could do something special in his life, and that killing the man was the fulfillment of this wish. He says that if he could simply squash his qualms about murder, it would be an ex-ceptional act. He adds that unless it is a battle field, it is not even a murder. If he could just squash his own qualms, he would be able to kill the man. He feels that the universe wants him to have the opportunity to kill a man, and if he can simply squash the qualms of others, he feels like he has killed the man for the purpose of killing him. If someone sees him, he says, they will testify against him, and he will turn himself in to the authorities. The killer tells the ghost that he was expecting him to help close the case, and wonders how he will deceive others to settle matters his way. The ghost replies that he uses logic to convince people that there are no such things as gods and that he is the "god of wisdom" for y'kai and monsters. But by doing what he does, he upholds the worlds order. He asks the ghost if he didn't foresee that the two of them would be enemies one day
