About This Chapter
The monster tells Kui that he has cursed him and that he will only remove his curse after the demon heals him. Kui is surprised that the wound isn't healing, but the monster explains that it's because the monster's wound is different from a normal person's, and that's why the wound didn't heal at all. He also explains that the rumors that Kui has killed people aren't true. He's been forced to stay, and he's had a lot of food, and the monster has taken him around the world. The monster says that they're going to a lantern festival, which means that someone has signed up for a curse with the demon. This means that the person who signs up for the curse will be miserable for the rest of their lives, and they won't be able to do anything good in the future. The shopkeeper agrees to take one of the lanterns to the festival, and Kui asks him if he has a wish to write down. He wants to know if the wound will heal, and if so, what wish he'll have to grant him. He doesn't want to leave Kui too much, but he also wants the wound to heal quickly.
