About This Chapter
In this short scene, Tenjuin tells his father that the seven spears have all been cut down and that Ashina has disowned him. He tells him that he has accompanied him to the nunnery because he is worried about the safety of his father. He says that he is sorry that he did not say his goodbyes to the women before leaving the castle, as he could see that powerful storm clouds were brewing on his father's head. He asks that they be allowed to accompany him to edo, as his father will soon be returning to the castle. He also says that the women have decided to go to the convent because they have lost so many souls to mourn.
