In this chapter, the third prince's wife, Lingfeng, tries to convince the prince that she is the one who saved him from the emperor. She tells him that she has always been a friend and that he should not worry because she will distance herself from the prince and the emperor in the future. The prince, however, does not believe her. He thinks she is vain and greedy. Lingfeng tries to defend herself by saying that the kiss is different from the kiss she had with the emperor and that it is better than a war. She says that she will never see the prince again and that she wants to go to the palace of the prince. The third prince accepts her greetings and says that he will help her get what she wants. She promises that after the emperor, she will be the empress of the utmost dignity.
